This is where the fun really begins! Work with me to create a one of a kind, handmade piece so you can step out into the world wearing your activism on your sleeve! Be immersed in your own mythology as your custom wearable art piece is created from reclaimed fabric, garments, and talismans.
We start the process with a questionnaire; from there, we will chat (on the phone or over skype) to discuss ideas for the adornment. I will get you to send me an image of you so I can create a concept sketch of the piece, which can be something you already own that has special meaning or something I can source based on what you're itching to express. The Poetic Vesture is accompanied by an activation ritual and oil blend, sealing the connection between you and your new boo.
This process takes considerable time, and as such, there will be a limited number of Poetic Vesture pieces available each year. All pieces are handmade in Widjabul Country, Australia, and will arrive with a signed mark of authenticity to keep with your heirloom piece.
Vesture now available through the Elemental Outpost Studio in Uki Northern NSW

no.1 vest for @Anthropocalypse
The very first Poetic Vesture was made for my dear friend Stef. She is an incredible artist who is deeply passionate about climate change. Her coal babyface artwork adorns the back of the vest along with a term she resonates strongly with, virtual biosphere. The foundation of the piece is a work wear coverall which has been converted into a vest. It has adjustable sides, press stud front and shoulder pads for that extra lift! The piece has been hand adorned with embroidered applique lettering, paint, bead work, talismans, handmade glass beads and patches from Stefs personal collection. Stef had an old Spell dress that I converted into button in sleeves or a cape to add more flow when she walks. It was the perfect place to begin this adventure into the bespoke Vesture, and nothing gave me more joy than her face when she first saw and put it on.
You can view Stefs work here and follow her on instagram here. These images were shot on location at Stefs shack, styling was done by Stef.
